Wisconsin’s History on ESPN’s College Gameday

With ESPN’s College Gameday being present in Arlington, TX for the Cowboys Classic between the Wisconsin Badgers and Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend, we decided to take a look at the Badgers history during their seven College Gameday games.

September 25, 1999: #4 Michigan 21-16 over #20 Wisconsin (Madison, WI)

Michigan pulled this one out 21-16, despite Ron Dayne’s Heisman year and the Badgers winning the Rose Bowl.

September 30, 2000: #9 Michigan 13-10 over #17 Wisconsin (Ann Arbor, MI)

The Wolverines were too much for the Badgers once again in this defensive battle.

October 18, 2003: #13 Purdue 26-23 over #14 Wisconsin (Madison, WI)

Kyle Orton and the Boilermakers knocked off the Badgers on a field goal with three seconds left.

September 25, 2004: #20 Wisconsin 16-3 over Penn State (Madison, WI)

Matt Bernstein leads the Badgers with 123 yards rushing as they finally win with College Gameday in Madison.

October 16, 2004: #10 Wisconsin 20-17 over #5 Purdue (West Lafayette, IN)

Robert Brooks key forced fumble (photographed here) leads the Badgers to victory and they remain undefeated.

October 16, 2010: #18 Wisconsin 31-18 over #1 Ohio State (Madison, WI)

Wisconsin upsets Ohio State behind John Clay’s two rushing touchdowns in the most recent biggest upset at Camp Randall Stadium by the Badgers.

January 1, 2011: Rose Bowl: #3 TCU 21-19 over #4 Wisconsin (Pasadena, CA)

Andy Dalton leads TCU over J.J. Watt and Wisconsin in the first of three straight Rose Bowl heartbreakers.

October 22, 2011: #7 Wisconsin 48-17 over #8 Nebraska (Madison, WI)

Russell Wilson leads the Badgers to an overwhelming victory as they welcomed Nebraska to the Big Ten officially at Camp Randall Stadium.

October 22, 2011: #15 Michigan State 37-31 over #4 Wisconsin (East Lansing, WI)

Kirk Cousins throws a Hail Mary as time expires as the Spartans scramble for victory. Luckily, Russell Wilson and the Badgers would get their own revenge in the unforgettable B1G Championship Game that season.

January 2, 2012: Rose Bowl: #6 Oregon 45-38 over #9 Wisconsin (Pasadena, CA)

Oregon’s speed is too much for the Badgers, but they ran out of time at the end for one last Hail Mary after a questionable call on whether or not Wilson spiked the ball.

January 1, 2013: Rose Bowl: #8 Stanford 20-14 over Wisconsin (Pasadena, CA)

Wisconsin struggles to get going, and fall once again in the Rose Bowl in a sea of red.
