If you are a Badger hockey fan, you would have to be crazy not to be excited for this weekend’s series. The Badgers take on Big Ten foe Michigan on Friday and Saturday night in the Kohl Center. Following a tough weekend series in which the Badgers were swept by No. 9 Penn State, the team is looking for a huge bounce back against the unranked Wolverines before gearing up for the difficult test of three ranked Big Ten opponents to close out the season.

The combination of a frustrated group of Badgers, an unranked Michigan team, and a Kohl Center whiteout could very well produce fireworks. Considering the fact that the Badgers have not had back-to-back losses (other than last weekend) all season, a prediction of a bounce back should be all but assumed.

Things to Watch:

  • Goalie Situation: At this point, talking about the goaltender situation is almost like beating a dead horse. However, with the Big Ten tournament on the horizon, it would be foolish not to pay attention to Coach Granato’s decisions when it comes to the most important position on the ice. Jurusik currently appears to have the upper hand, but freshman Jack Berry has continued to put together solid performances when called upon.
  • Conference Repercussions: With the Badgers sitting at No. 20 in the nation, two wins over a Big Ten team could not only catapult them upwards in the national rankings, but would move them near the top of the Big Ten as well. Although the Big Ten’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament is awarded to the winner of the conference tournament, conference wins are huge if the Badgers falter during the tournament and require an at-large bid.
  • Atmosphere in Kohl Center: With the whiteout theme in full effect, the Kohl Center should be bumping on both Friday and Saturday night. Something about everyone wearing the same color makes a building excited. It’s just science. Don’t forget to wear white, and contribute to the electric atmosphere at both games this weekend.

Puck drops at 8 p.m. CT on Friday, and 7 p.m. CT on Saturday. Don’t forget to wear white!
