After a long wait for Cheeseheads worldwide, the dedicated Green Bay Packers fans finally got to see their team make a pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, taking Washington CB Kevin King with the 33rd pick in the draft.
Green Bay did not make a pick Thursday after trading their first round pick to the Browns, who used the pick to take Jabrill Peppers.
Defensive back was a huge need for Green Bay after a pretty successful season, and Kevin King was certainly one of the top choices in the draft. The 6-3 corner was invited to the Draft, and the only player left in the green room on Friday.
Pete Prisco of CBS Sports gave the Packers an A+ for the pick, as he is a big fan of King. “Love this kid. Love this pick. Smart move by Ted Thompson. King is a hell of a corner,” stated Prisco.
King will look to make an immediate impact with the Packers, who continue to be a contender with Aaron Rodgers at QB.
