In a release by the UW Athletics Program, it was announced that head coach Paul Chryst’s contract has been renewed to January 31, 2022. It was originally set to expire in 2021 after an extension last season.
Chryst, along with volleyball coach Kelly Sheffield (extended), women’s soccer coach Paula Wilkins (renewed), and men’s soccer coach John Trask (extended), will be staying at Wisconsin for the near future.
Chryst’s contract renewal comes on the heels of two straight seasons of success, as the team has gone 21-6 over 2015 and 2016 with a 2-0 record in bowl games. Additionally, the Badgers have gone 13-4 in conference over the last two seasons and are 10-3 in Camp Randall.
Chryst capped off the 2016 season with a bowl win over previously-undefeated Western Michigan in the Cotton Bowl. Prior to this, Wisconsin played in the Big Ten championship game after winning the West Division outright with a 7-2 conference record.
