The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski has reported that the Milwaukee Bucks have extended general manager John Hammond’s contract through the 2017-18 season.
Additionally, Woj’s sources say that Hammond will serve as a consultant to GM-to-be and current assistant GM Justin Zanik after the 2017-18 season.
The 2010 NBA Executive of Year award winner, Hammond has served as the Bucks’ GM since April of 2008. His 10-year legacy will likely be defined by how the Bucks play the next two seasons and what becomes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker, and Thon Maker.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Charles Gardner confirmed Woj’s report soon after.
