According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Charles Gardner in Tuesday’s paper, Jason Kidd has confirmed that Jabari Parker will not be ready until November. The Bucks first game is October 28 against the Knicks, so Parker will not be ready for the season opener.
The news comes not as a surprise, and it’s encouraging that the Bucks are being as cautious as possible about Parker’s recovery from a torn ACL.
In terms of replacements, besides Giannis Antetokounmpo being suspended for the first game for the Game 6 incident with the Bulls’ Mike Dunleavy, look for Kidd to give the nod to Chris Copeland or John Henson. To me, it would make the most sense to slide Greg Monroe to power forward and have Henson start at center.
