Wisconsin Football: 2016 Spring Practice – Day 1

On a beautiful day at Camp Randall, the Wisconsin football team opened up practice for the first time in the spring of 2016. Our football beat writers Margaret Naczek and Luke Schaetzel were there on our behalf.

Highlighted by a quarterback battle between Bart Houston and Alex Hornibrook, the Badgers practiced for about three hours on Saturday. Of note, Corey Clement has changed his number from #6 to #24, Conor Sheehy has gained 20 pounds, T.J. Watt got the reps at starting outside linebacker, and Ryan Ramczyk is getting a lot of praise as the incoming starting left tackle.

The following players are out for Spring Practice:

  • QB Karé Lyles – Left Hip
  • DE Zander Neuville – Right Shoulder
  • TE Michael Rolfe – Right Knee
  • OL Dan Voltz – Right Knee
