The Milwaukee Bucks announced early Thursday morning that the Wisconsin Herd will be the name of the team’s new Development League affiliate. The Wisconsin Herd are set to begin their inaugural campaign in Oshkosh this November following the completion of their new, 3,500 seat arena.

The Wisconsin Herd name is a clear nod to the team’s partnership with the Bucks. Much like its Oshkosh-area neighbors, the Milwaukee Brewers’ Class A affiliate Timber Rattlers, the Herd hopes to build a statewide brand with its professional affiliate.

“The Wisconsin Herd name has a strong, competitive feel, and it says we’re a team that’s here to win,” said Oshkosh Mayor Steve Cummings. “It has a nice tie with the Bucks while being very much a part of this state and its image.”

The Herd will play 24 home games during the 2017-18 season. The team’s logo will be unveiled on June 22, the same day as the 2017 NBA Draft. Information regarding season tickets and other team details can be found at the team’s website.
