A second Badger is set to join J.J. Watt and the Houston Texans after undrafted rookie free agent Dare Ogunbowale was officially signed by the team Tuesday. Ogunbowale was reportedly signed by the Texans immediately following the 2017 NFL Draft, but the former Wisconsin running back was left off of the team’s undrafted rookie free agent list this past weekend. The Texans confirmed Ogunbowale’s signing along with two other players on Tuesday.
The Texans tweeted about their recent signings.
Voted captain by his teammates before the 2016 season, Ogunbowale rushed for 506 yards and five touchdowns behind fellow running back, Corey Clement. He also caught 24 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown. The former walk-on switched from cornerback to running back early on in the 2014 season and developed into one of the Badgers’ top players.
