Paul Chryst and his staff finished off an amazing week today by receiving a commitment from Wisconsin’s top-ranked player in 2017 offensive tackle Tyler Beach.
The 6’8″, 270-pound OT from Port Washington, WI (Josh Gasser’s hometown) picked Wisconsin over Michigan and Notre Dame among other schools.
On Thursday, Beach visited Wisconsin, and it sealed the deal.
“It just felt like home,” Beach told SST on Sunday afternoon.”It’s hard to describe, I just knew everything about the place and I just had to make a decision.”
He is ranked as a four or three-star recruit depending on the site, but you have to love his size. Chryst has basically built a wall around Wisconsin in terms of locking up in-state kids. With Beach’s commitment, the Badgers now have commitments from the top five players in the state for 2017.
“I grew up in Ohio, Indiana, [and] Colorado,” Beach said. “But it’s amazing still.”
Overall, Beach is the Badgers’ eighth commitment for 2017.
