Madison, WI — Breaking news out of Madison, as former Wisconsin running back and perennial partier was arrested early Friday morning.

Per the Wisconsin State Journal and police accounts, police were called to the Hampton Hotel and Suites on campus at 3:40 AM early Friday morning.

Ball, who is 25 and was last on the Patriots practice squad, was taken to the Dane County Jail on a tentative charge of substantial battery.

From the Wisconsin State Journal:

“The woman told police she had a dispute with her boyfriend,” a police source told the State Journal. “She said he put his hands on her, picked her up and threw her.”

She told police she hit a table, resulting in the cut on her leg, which needed stitches.

Ball was found outside the hotel. “He was very cooperative,” the police source said.

Ball has been seen a lot on campus this year, partying out at bars. His arrest comes only a few months after Corey Clement was arrested for battery at his apartment building.
