Update: November 25, 4:30 PM
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Athletic Department released the following statement about Clement’s incident detailed earlier today.
Statement from UW Athletics on Corey Clement
We were informed yesterday by Madison Police that Corey Clement was cited for two counts of disorderly conduct for his role in an incident on Nov. 8. When we first became aware of this incident, we knew this was a possibility.
We released a statement regarding Corey’s involvement in the incident on Nov. 12 in response to false information that was circulating. That statement was based off of information that we had at that time.
With the release of the full police report today, further details on the incident have come to light. Any disciplinary measures taken by UW head coach Paul Chryst relating to this incident are undetermined at this time and will be handled internally.
Thus, all decisions in regard to discipline will be determined by head coach Paul Chryst.

Earlier this month, the Badgers released a statement stating running back Corey Clement had been in an altercation, resulting in a cut on his hand. The release was a bit misleading, which comes as no surprise.
“Wisconsin junior running back Corey Clement suffered a cut to his hand following an incident at his off-campus residence early Sunday morning.
Clement was returning to his residence when he witnessed a verbal dispute between a security guard at his apartment building and a group of individuals. Clement became engaged in the dispute. He and the security guard were then assaulted by the individuals, resulting in a cut to Clement’s hand.
He attended the Badgers’ practice on Wednesday but did not participate, as planned, due to his continued rehab from his sports hernia injury.
Due to an ongoing police investigation into the matter, Clement, head coach Paul Chryst and the Wisconsin Athletic Department will have no further comment on the incident.”
More details are now emerging, as ESPN Wisconsin’s Zach Heilprin detailed today. Clement has been cited for two counts of disorderly conduct in which a fight broke out with Clement throwing the first punch in his apartment building. Police say Clement used “derogatory and sexually explicit language towards one of the females in the group” in the elevator of his 400 block of North Frances Street apartment building (The Hub). The group of people involved in the altercation were 5-10 Asian-American men. “The altercation turned physical with video showing Clement hitting 23-year-old Tenzin Palden in the face,” notes Heilprin. “Clement suffered injuries to his right hand, left forearm and ended up being taken to UW Hospital.”
Knowing some insider information, the luxury apartment building Clement lives in does have security and it’s a brand new high-rise building right off State Street. But, this security is rather questionable; they don’t work too hard and seem to be overly friendly with residents, perhaps a little too friendly. Most people that live in the building are students, but there are other residents that live there who work in the area.
At this point, one can assume that Clement’s actions may have stemmed from alcohol, and the incident occurred in the early hours of November 8 (the night of November 7). Tuesday nights are popular nights for football players to go out in Madison, since the football team has 48-hour rule before a game. Clement turned 21 on November 2.
