Wisconsin volleyball coach Kelly Sheffield and his wife Cathy have donated 1,000 tickets for Wisconsin’s Sweet Sixteen matchup against Big Ten rival Ohio State on Friday.

TV scheduling forced the game to start at an unusual time at 1 p.m. CST on ESPNU. With such an odd start time, Coach Sheffield realized that filling the UW Field House might be a difficult task and hopes that the free tickets will entice students to attend the game.

The home crowd has been a huge boost for the team all year with Wisconsin 13-1 at the Field House this year, their only loss coming against No. 2 Minnesota.

Students looking to attend the game can pick up tickets at the UW Athletic Ticket Office from 8:30 to noon on Friday, if they bring their student ID.

If the Badgers beat the Buckeyes, they will host the winner of 6th-ranked Stanford and Florida State in the regional finals on Saturday.

Last year, the Badgers lost to Florida in the Sweet Sixteen, but will be looking to reach new heights and seeking their first national championship after earning a program-best 3 seed.
