After putting together one of the best young rosters in the NBA, Milwaukee Bucks’ General Manager John Hammond has finally been rewarded.

First reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Charles Gardner, the Bucks have extended Hammond’s contract through the 2016-17 season. This gives Hammond at least two more years in Milwaukee, the same as head coach Jason Kidd.
Hammond’s drafting of Giannis Antetokounmpo at #15 overall in 2013, Jabari Parker #2 in 2014, the trades to get Khris Middleton and Michael Carter-Williams, and the signing of Greg Monroe is the Bucks starting lineup. Additional key signings of players such as O.J. Mayo, Jerryd Bayless, and others have proven to be important to building the Bucks’ nucleus as well. And of course, Hammond’s most important move was trading for Kidd. Together, Hammond and Kidd have built this Bucks team into an Eastern Conference contender.
The Bucks also announced that would not be retaining assistant GM David Morway, a former GM for the Indiana Pacers.
