We heard word this morning from the Badgers’ color analyst Mike Lucas on Twitter the following injury updates:

We knew Caputo was cleared Thursday to play, but the injury to Clement is obviously significant, as the Badgers will have to put up points behind a young offensive line and inexperienced running backs today. The Badgers will need Dare Ogunbowale and Taiwan Deal to step up big time, and fullback Derek Watt will be crucial to the team’s success today. Of course, the team is able to sit a player like Clement against a team like Miami (OH), but this game may be a bit closer than we expect. I would also assume that Joel Stave will play a bigger role in this game, and the team will pass much more against Miami than we expected.

Players starting at multiple positions in college football is not unheard of, but it’s very rare for a player at Wisconsin to do so. As Lucas noted, the last Badger to so was Brandon Williams in 2003, so this will be a great trivia question about McEvoy in the future.

No Fumagalli does not help as well, but tight end Austin Traylor will get his second straight start.
