According to a UW release, sophomore wide receiver Danny Davis will sit out the first two games of the 2018 football season.
“Should further information become available that warrants a reevaluation of the length of the suspension, I will assess that information. We have a high standard of conduct within our football program and we cannot accept behavior that is not consistent with that standard,” said head coach Paul Chryst.
This announcement comes on the heels of the Badgers suspending wide receiver Quintez Cephus for violating the UW Department of Athletics’ Student-Athlete Discipline policy.
Cephus took to Twitter days earlier to declare a leave of absence from the program following charges from the Dane County District Attorney’s office. The pair of wide receivers are reportedly roommates and are said to both be involved in the investigation.
Chryst will have media availability today at 1:45 PM inside the McClain Center.
