The Milwaukee Bucks are heading to Madison for the second straight season.

Announced on the Mike Heller Show Tuesday afternoon, the Bucks will be holding part of training camp in late September at the Kohl Center, followed by a preseason game versus the Dallas Mavericks on October 8th.

The training camp will be held September 27-30 and the Bucks will then return back to Madison to host their third ever exhibition game at the current home of the Wisconsin Badgers. The Bucks last game in Madison prior to last season was back 1999, despite once playing their games at the UW Field House and Dane County Coliseum.

Last preseason, the Bucks defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 106-88 in front of over 12,000 fans in Madison. It was one of the first professional games for then rookie Timberwolves point guard Tyus Jones, just months after defeating the Badgers in the National Championship game as a member of the Duke Blue Devils.

“What do you expect?” former Wisconsin Badger and Bucks preseason member from a year ago Marcus Landry said. “He kind of put a dagger in (the Badgers’) year last year. That’s what you get when you come here and they don’t like you.”

Head coach Jason Kidd was also fond of last year’s experience.

“I hope the people that came were entertained,” Bucks coach Jason Kidd said after the last year’s game. “I hope they cheered on their Bucks. “I thought it was a great atmosphere for a pro game to be here and hopefully we can come back.”

Former Badgers point guard Devin Harris, who is now a member of the Dallas Mavericks, will be returning to the Kohl Center this October. Harris was a member of the Wisconsin basketball team from 2001-2004.
