The Milwaukee Bucks have emerged as the favorites to sign 32-year old Steve Novak once he clears waivers, ESPN’s Marc Stein reports. Novak was a part of the trade deadline activity that sent him from Oklahoma City to Denver in exchange for guard Randy Foye.

On Friday, Novak secured a buyout from Denver, making him a free agent.

The Bucks are poised to bring Novak back to Milwaukee, who spent his college career playing in the Bradley Center for the Marquette Golden Eagles. Having been bounced around the league, the Bucks would be Novak’s ninth NBA team he has been a part of. One of those teams was the New York Knicks, where he played from 2011-2013 and was teammates with now Bucks head coach Jason Kidd.

Novak would be a nice three-point threat for Milwaukee, who ranks 29th out of 30 teams in three-point shots made per game (5.5) and is shooting 35 percent from downtown on the year.

Only playing in seven games this season, Novak is averaging just 2.7 points per contest. In his career, he is a 4.7 points per game scorer, shooting 43.2 percent from behind the arc.

 

Might need to add some Bucks gear to that wardrobe.
