The Bucks will be hoping to extend their winning streak to 11 games when they face the Charlotte Hornets Saturday night at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. The Bucks, who will be on the second night of a back-to-back, took care of business against the Cavaliers Friday night in a 119-110 win. Charlotte defeated Detroit 110-107 on the road Friday thanks to 26 points from P.J. Washington.
The Hornets are a very young squad, with some intriguing building blocks in Devonte’ Graham, Miles Bridges, and P.J. Washington. Terry Rozier was the big signing for the Hornets in the offseason after they declined to commit to a max deal for Kemba Walker. They are anchored at center by Bismack Biyombo, who is quietly having a solid season in a limited role on offense. Expect him to match up against Giannis as Brook Lopez will be out with back soreness. We will likely see a lot of Giannis at center which may create more space on the perimeter for shooters.
This is the first of 3 meetings between the teams this season. Milwaukee won the season series last year 3 games to 1.
Expected starters:
CHA: Graham, Rozier, Bridges, Washington, Biyombo
MIL: Bledsoe, DiVincenzo, Matthews, Middleton, G. Antetokounmpo
Injuries: The Bucks have a pretty banged up squad right now. Brook Lopez, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, and Sterling Brown will all miss tonight’s game. Giannis, Eric Bledsoe, and George Hill are all listed as probable. Cody Zeller is probable for Charlotte.
The spread: MIL -14.0
Time and TV: 7:00 PM CT on FS Wisconsin
Prediction: Even with the Bucks a bit banged up right now, they are red hot and face yet another inferior opponent in Charlotte. I do not see the Hornets pulling off the upset to stop Milwaukee’s winning streak. Bucks 126, Hornets 110
