The Bucks will be looking to avenge one of their only losses of the season as they face off against the Utah Jazz in Milwaukee Monday night. Utah won the first meeting of the teams in Salt Lake City 103-100 thanks to a game-winning three-pointer by Bojan Bogdanovic after the Bucks mounted a second half comeback. This one could turn out different as the Jazz may be without Rudy Gobert, who is a game-time decision with an ankle injury. If Gobert can’t go, that opens up a lot for Milwaukee offensively especially for Giannis in the paint, as Gobert is one of the premier defenders in the NBA.
Milwaukee is coming off a 104-90 victory over the Detroit Pistons behind 28 points and 10 rebounds from Giannis Antetokounmpo. Utah beat the Pelicans 128-110 on Saturday night thanks to 37 points from Donovan Mitchell. The Bucks have won the last 2 meetings between the teams in Milwaukee, including a 114-102 win in January of 2019. Giannis looks to extend his double-double streak to 17 games in the matchup tonight.
Expected starters:
UTA: Conley, Mitchell, Bogdanovic, O’Neale, Gobert*
MIL: Bledsoe, DiVincenzo, Matthews, G. Antetokounmpo, B. Lopez
Injuries: As stated above, Gobert is a game-time decision with an ankle injury while George Hill will be out for Milwaukee with back soreness.
The spread: MIL -7.5
Time and TV: 7:00 PM CT on FS Wisconsin
Prediction: This could really depend on whether or not Gobert plays for Utah. The Jazz match up well with Milwaukee and proved it in the first meeting, so I’m going with Utah under the assumption that Gobert is cleared to play. Utah 109, Milwaukee 105
