Sunday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium, the Wisconsin Badger’s Men’s Tennis team  (2-1 Big Ten, 10-6 overall) hosted the No. 44 Iowa Hawkeyes (1-1, 9-8). Lead by senior Chema Carranza, junior Osgar O’Hoisin, and sophomore Daniel Soyfer, the Badgers crushed Iowa, 7-0, making this the team’s forth consecutive win.

O’Hoisin finished first and encouraged his teammates along. Carranza soon joined him on the sidelines watching Soyfer. As soon as Soyfer had secured the match, he was stormed by his teammates who proceeded to chant and huddle around him.

The Badgers continued to thunder on as they came out hot in the doubles. O’Hoisin and Soyfer slid by Iowa’s Will Davies and Piotr Smietana, 6-0. Then Senior Joseph Dodridge and Carranza eliminated Kareem Allaf and Jonas Larsen, 6-1.

Singles No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 were all retired by Iowa, giving Wisconsin a 7-0 victory. This is the team’s first win against a ranked team this season.

The Badgers plan to keep the momentum rolling as they take on No. 45 Penn State Friday, March 30th at 6 pm.
