Senior wide receiver George Rushing has announced that he will be leaving the University of Wisconsin-Madison via Twitter in hopes of playing with another team next fall. His statement said he will be graduate-transfer after the spring semester.
Rushing did not see the field this season, due to a nagging leg injury, but he did play in all 14 games last season. Despite being a senior, Rushing was not announced on senior day due to being away from the team.
In his four seasons with the Badgers, Rushing has caught 18 passes for 208 yards along with seven carries for 40 rushing yards.
Rushing could have returned to the Badgers next season because he still has a redshirt season available. Rushing will be eligible to play immediately, without having to sit out a season.
Despite the sudden end to his time with the Badgers, Rushing made sure to thank everyone with the program and claimed that coming to Wisconsin was still one of the best decisions he had ever made.
