The Badgers headed out east for their first road trip of the year, and it was sure to be a tough one. According to the USCHO.com poll, Boston College came into the game ranked 13th in the country, while Wisconsin is 10th.

Friday night the Badgers produced a statement win. They marched into Boston and came away with a 5-2 victory. Five different players scored for the Badgers, while goalie Kyle Hayton made 29 saves, his season high, to earn the win.

Sophomore standout Trent Frederic got the Badgers on the board late in the first period off a nice feed from freshman Linus Weissbach. Frederic was able to find some space in the high slot and fire one past BC goalie Joseph Woll.

Boston College tied the game late in the first, but early in the second period senior Tim Davison was able to find the top shelf off a faceoff to put the Badgers back on top. Seamus Malone would add another goal about 10 minutes later to stretch the lead to two.

Matt Freytag extended the lead early in the 3rd with a beautiful shot that Woll couldn’t handle. BC would eventually cut the lead down to two but for no avail. Freshman Tarek Baker scored his third goal of the season on an empty net to secure the win.
