Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski let one of his signature “Woj Bombs” fly on Tuesday afternoon, and this one involves the Milwaukee Bucks.

General manager John Hammond agreed to a five-year deal with the Orlando Magic to be their new GM. Hammond was with the Bucks since 2008. He did a solid job of acquiring young talent throughout the draft in recent years for the Bucks. Selecting Giannis outside of the lottery could be one of the steals of the last decade in the NBA.

While seeming like a lateral move to Orlando, Hammond has many young, intriguing pieces, but pieces that have not fit together. Perhaps Hammond has a vision to make it work. Hammond has been after lengthy, versatile players for the Bucks over the past few years in Milwaukee, and it will be interesting to see if he takes a similar approach in Orlando.

Woj also reported that this move clears the way for Justin Zanik to be promoted to the new GM position of the Bucks. Zanik joined the Bucks as an assistant GM in 2016 following a stint with the Jazz at the same position. Similar to Hammond’s new operation in Orlando, it will be intriguing to see if Zanik continues to build Milwaukee’s roster in the same mold in which Hammond did.
