Paul Chryst’s roots in Pittsburgh are coming up big for another transfer.

With Corey Clement and Dare Ogunbowale on the way out after 2016, running back Chris James announced on Twitter on Friday that he successfully transferred to Wisconsin. James will have to sit out 2016 due to eligibility rules, but he will definitely be in the mix for carries in 2017.

In 2014, as a true freshman, James carried the ball 87 times for 437 yards (5.0 yards per carry) and four touchdowns. He was a top 25 running back coming out of high school and a two-time Chicago Tribune All-State selection in Illinois.

It was not a matter of if James was going to transfer, but when it would happen. James has two years of eligibility remaining.
