The Milwaukee Brewers’ Christian Yelich is the 2018 National League MVP.
Yelich’s outstanding first season in Milwaukee topped MVP finalists Nolan Arenado and Javier Baez. This past season, Yelich recorded 36 homers, 110 RBIs, and a .326 batting average. The 2018 season marked Yelich’s first trip to an All-star game and his second career Silver Slugger award.
The outfielder was traded to Milwaukee from the Miami Marlins, in exchange for a handful of prospects. With the help of Yelich, the Brewers won the National League Central for the first time since 2011. The Brewers fell to the Dodgers in the National League Championship.
Yelich is the most recent MVP to represent the Milwaukee Brewers and third overall, with teammate Ryan Braun winning in 2011.
The American League MVP will be announced Thursday at 6 P.M. EST.
