Wisconsin sophomore Luke Kunin will serve as captain for Team USA in the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship starting December 26th.

Kunin is the fifth Badger to serve as captain in the last 13 years, joining Jake McCabe (2013), John Ramage (2011), Derek Stepan (2010), and Ryan Suter (2005). Additionally, Kunin has already served as a captain for the IIHF Under-18 Team USA team in 2015, where he scored six goals in seven games.

This season, Kunin leads the Badgers (8-7-1) with 11 goals and is second on the team with 17 points, trailing only Grant Besse.
