The Badgers have landed a 3-star recruit for the Class of 2018 in River Rouge (Michigan) safety Reggie Pearson Jr.

Pearson, a 5’10”, 180 lb. defensive utility, is the first high school player to announce their commitment to Wisconsin for the incoming class of 2018. He also had offers from Big Ten schools including Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State.

“It was a great decision for me because it’s Big Ten football,” Pearson told SST. “It’s not so far from home, the education is wonderful, [Wisconsin has a] great coaching staff, and they win bowl games.”

According to 247sports.com, Pearson is the 43rd-ranked safety from the state of Michigan.
