The Milwaukee Bucks are returning home from an 0-3 West Coast road trip that added to their current losing skid. Defeated in five straight games and seven of their last eight, the Bucks will look to gain some momentum before heading into All-Star Weekend.
The first of two games this week begins with the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. The teams met earlier in the season in November where the Bucks fell by double digits 99-83. The game was relatively close, but a 30-17 Boston advantage in the third quarter helped Boston pull away for good.
The Bucks were without guards Michael Carter-Williams and OJ Mayo that game, but look to have both of them for Tuesday’s contest, as Jason Kidd said Friday that he expects Mayo to take the court. Greivis Vasquez and John Henson remain out indefinitely, although no update has been announced if Henson will be making an appearance before the All-Star break.
Milwaukee will finish off the first half the season on Thursday when the Washington Wizards come to town. The last of three meetings this year, the Bucks lost both of their earlier matchups with the Wizards, including a 29-point road loss. Both games occurred within the first 11 games, while the Bucks were dealing with injuries. Washington is currently roughed with injuries in their frontcourt, with big men Kris Humphries and Nene Hilario listed as day-to-day. It is unclear if they will be available for Thursday night’s game in Milwaukee.
The Bucks currently sit in 13th place in the Eastern Conference with a 20-32 record. The team has seen signs of success at home this year, and two wins before the break would be a nice lift to the team’s spirits.
